| Nikon have announced several new digital cameras and lenses. First of the cameras is the new digital SLR., the Nikon D3100. It has a new sensor and full HD movie capability. Second is a new compact camera, the Nikon Coolpix S5100. This has a wide angle 5 x optical zoom lens and a metallic body. |
| New imminent launches from Panasonic include the following models. The first is the range topper Panasonic Lumix FZ100, which has a fantastic 24 x zoom lens and a full HD movie function. | Sony are to launch several new digital 'cybershot' camera in September 2010. They are the Sony Cybershot WX5, and the Sony Cyber-shot TX9. Both have the new 12 megapixel Exmor CMOS sensores and fast f2.4 wide angle zoom lenses. They are ultra compact, metal bodied cameras with the addition of the new 3D sweep panorama modes and full 1080i resolution HD movie function. |
| Sony have just announced a new range of ultra compact DSLRs. First is the Sony Alpha NEX-3 (NEX3); this has the new 14 megapixel CMOS HD sensor, a 921K pixel tilt LCD and 720p movie mode. The Sony Alpha NEX-5 (NEX5) has a similar modes to the Nex-3 but with the addtional features of a magnesium body, 1080i movie function and slightly smaller size. Both camera come in a choice of colours and a choice of either the Sony 16mm f/2.8 lens or the Sony 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 OSS Lens. |

| New compact SLR models have been launched by Panasonic. First up is the very impressive Panasonic Lumix G2 SLR, which initially comes kitted with the new Panasonic 14-42mm f3.5-5.6 mega OIS lens. It has a 12 megapixel live mos sensor and a 3.0" touch lcd, and the new addition of a HD ACVHD lite video mode. The other new model the G2's litttle brother, the Panasonic Lumix G10. This has many of the features of the G2 with a few exceptions, no touch lcd, a lower qulaity electronic viewfinder and a lesser spec'd HD movie function. |

| New model from Canon available this Spring. There are several new Canon Ixus models, including the Canon Ixus 210, Ixus 130 and Ixus 105. All have at least 12 megapixels and 4 x wide optical zoom lenses. The Ixus 210 in particular has a very attractive high quality 3.5" LCD. The other compact model is from the Powershot range, the Canon Powershot SX210 IS. It has the new 14 megapixel sensor and the 14 x optical zoom lens. Finally there is a new addition to the propular EOS SLR selection, the Canon EOS 550D. It is an updated version of the EOS 500D. The new features include, a 18 megapixel sensor, better movie functionality and a high qulaity 3.0" LCD. |
Fuji film are to launch several new model this spring. Firstly there is are two new high specification bridge camera, the Fuji finepix HS10, and the fuji finepix S2500HD. The latter is a update to the popular finepix s2000hd. It has a 12 megapixel CCD and a 18 x zoom lens. The former mentioned new model, the HS10, is a true multi-functional camera as it has both high spec still images and a full HD video mode and an amazing 30 x zoom lens.
